According to the Architectural Digest team, Kevin Systrom and his wife had a clear vision when it comes to the interior design of this fabulous property. The couple wanted a year-round camp to rival the best historic resorts, one that felt intriguingly timeworn, as though it had been there for generations.
From Bavarian antiques to retro midcentury lighting, with the help senior designer Daryl Serrett, the couple not only curated a collection that would add flavor and character but also custom-designed many of the principal furnishings to be handcrafted by their favorite master artisans in California.
The main living room, which is flanked by two enormous fireplaces, made a pair of oversize sofas upholstered in fabric reminiscent of a Native American blanket. While as you enter in the rustic dining room ( as you can see throughout Architectural Digest photos) the star of the show is the heroic dining table, which seats up to 18, was inspired by a Jacobean antique. Rather than choosing polished wood, the couple had this one expertly carved by chain saw.
Architectural Digest‘s revealed that the interior design of the bedrooms was inspired/ dedicated to some of Kevin and Nicole’s favorite writers. For example, the Hemingway room is all about the combination of different panners, as you can see through the flat vernacular wallpaper, the Coyuchi bedding or the stark rug.
