Reading Freshome, I found a really interesting project in Milan, as an architecture lover this one impress me not only because its beauty but also because I truly believe that it can be a hope for our future.
Bosco Verticale was officially consider the most beautiful and innovative highrise in the world, created by Boeri Studio, it featured 800 trees and 14 thousand plants to the beautiful city of Milan, becoming one of the most incredible green residential project.
The green residential project has won the 2014 International Highrise Award, the jury consider that it is a futuristic project and they believe it can be a prototype for future city buildings. “It is a radical and daring idea for the cities of tomorrow, and without a doubt represents a model for the development of densely populated urban areas in other European countries.” stated jury president Christoph Ingenhoven.
The green project consists of two landscaped towers that together accommodate 113 apartments, each offering expansive city views. Solar panels contribute to the self-sufficiency of the buildings, while waste water from the complex is filtered and reused to irrigate the plants.
Do you really believe that projects like this can change our future? Give me your opinion, I will love to hear about it.
