From inspiring interior designers and renowned design studios, these inspiring New Yorkers have been influencing every single aspect of the city’s interior design industry. Monica Khemsurov and Jill Singer:
Former editors of I.D. Magazine, as well as freelance writers, curators, and design consultants, these inspiring women founded in 2009 the Sight Unseen site which is an online magazine that uncovers what’s new and next in design and the visual arts, with a focus on independent makers working outside traditional disciplinary boundaries.
Annabelle Selldorf founder of Seldorf Interiors:
The renowned designer founded New York City’s Selldorf Architects studio in 1988. Guided by their humanism concept, the design studio offers services in architectural design, interior design, exhibition design, master planning, landscape concepts, and strategic planning.
Roman and Williams Design Studio:
Founded in 2002 by principals Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, the New York-based design studio known for their work on hotels, restaurants, retail spaces, homes, and product design. Recently, they have created their most personal work to date: Roman and Williams Guild NY where the studios showcase their collection of original furniture, lighting, and accessories, as well as items collected from the workshops of the world’s best artisans.
