Sebastian Herkner Is The Interior Designer Of The Year – According to Maison & Objet official website, the interior designer is going to receive the “Designer Of The Year” award in January 2019!

The German designer, Sebastian Herkner, is a regular attendant of the Maison & Objet interior design fair and considers this amazing occasion as the unique opportunity to show off his design philosophy to Paris, a city that is close to his heart!
Sebastian Herkner has begun his career at Offenbach University of Art and Design, and from there, his career in interior design has become a remarkable path! Throughout the years Herkner participated in many ever-growing numbers of collaborations with international design houses (which 21 of those projects happened in 2018).

Over the years the interior designer has received some thirty awards in recognition of his innovative yet traditional design projects! As you know Herkner is recognized not only by his unconditional love for traditional craftsmanship, color and traditional materials (such as ceramics, wood, marble, and leather) but also for his desire to succeed in a sustainable project created from long hours of detailed work.

Back in 2006, he opened his first design studio located in Offenbach am Main. The bespoke masterpieces were focused on the fusion of tradition and creativity with new technology with long-established crafts.

Herkner has soft spot for French culture, specifically its interior architecture and design. For him, the French design breathes the sense of elegance and sophistication just like the country’s identity. As you know, the French designers are recognized for combining different color combinations with different textured fabrics, and for the unique appreciation of traditional French craftsmanship.

A long list of values guides him in his professional journey as an interior designer. However, authenticity keeps standing out in all of his projects… From the iconic “Bell” table (ClassiCon) to his very latest creations, Sebastian Herkner just keeps amazing us with all of this design projects!
