Today, Interior Design Magazines presents the Mid-Century Magazine, the only UK-based publication entirely dedicated to the best of 20th-century design. Founded by Tabitha Teuma, it all started when she had some ideas during the renovation of her apartment, and some knowledge of mid-century furniture as well as interior design. Combining that with the fact that there weren’t magazines about this subject in the UK, the iconic magazine was born.
Tabitha Teuma’s love for mid-century style began when she moved to the top floor apartment of a 1964 building, in South East London. There, she started to appreciate this amazing style and its preoccupation with space and lighting, so she took a lot of enjoyment searching for pieces that fitted with the aesthetic.
During the growth of the magazine, Teuma was able to find a team who shared the same love for mid-century design as she does.
However, with 10 issues published, an app and an interactive website, it was time to put the magazine to bed. With a young family and a day job, even with all the generous offers that were made, Tabitha Teuma couldn’t devote enough time to expanding the business.
