Meet the Designer of the Year: Harry Nuriev

Renowned for his transformative approach and poetic defiance of design conventions, Harry Nuriev will present an installation that reflects his unique vision: immersive, conceptual, and deeply human. Drawing inspiration from his artistic philosophy, Transformism, he invites visitors into a realm where everyday objects are reimagined as icons, and where the future gleams through echoes of the past.

As a modern-day philosopher of design, Nuriev presents a unique perspective on a world shaped by objects, driven by data, and fueled by endless creativity. Blending the roles of anthropologist and storyteller, he reimagines environments and brand identities, uncovering fresh expressions of beauty in the unexpected.

Through his creative studio, Crosby Studios, Nuriev oversees more than thirty projects annually, spanning retail, fashion, hospitality, and major cultural institutions worldwide. His multidisciplinary approach bridges art and design, encompassing everything from product development to the creation of immersive, one-of-a-kind environments; each guided by a distinct artistic vision. Positioned at the crossroads of collectible design and contemporary art, his works tap into the collective imagination. Conceived as striking, instantly recognizable experiences, they capture fleeting moments while pointing decisively toward the future.

“The first time I visited Maison&Objet, I had just founded Crosby Studios. I left the fair full of inspiration and new connections and immediately felt a strong connection to its inclusive and community-driven approach to design. What struck me most was the sense of community that Maison&Objet creates around the event. Artisans, curators, studios, brands – everyone comes together and contributes to this incredible collective energy. At every corner, from one edition to the next, you can catch unexpected conversations as they unfold.”
– Harry Muriev on Maison et Objet Paris

Crosby Studios’ work was featured on the cover of the November 2025 issue of Architectural Digest Magazine. The cover highlights the “dramatic reinvention” of a bedroom design, imagined by the prestigious studio. It belongs to an astounding residence in Tuscany.
Come January, at Maison et Objet 2026, the designer of the year will present their latest work, namely a new collection of home objects created for Baccarat. Visitors will also have the pleasure of seeing plenty of scenography that complements the Parisian spaces of the renowned brand.
