French designer

Jean-Baptiste Fastrez was born in 1984. He earned an honors degree from ENSCI/Les Ateliers de Paris in 2010. The designer launches his own office in 2011 where he works on various product and space projects in limited editions and industrial design after working with Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for three years.
Fastrez has created designs for a variety of companies. He is particularly proud of his associations with the French brand Moustache, the glass research institute Cirva in Marseille, the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, the Sèvres/Cité de la Céramique, the Galeries Lafayette in Paris, and the Galerie Kreo in Paris and London.

At VIA in Paris, Mudac in Lausanne, Grand Hornu in Belgium, and the Museum of Art in Seoul, his work has been shown in a variety of thematic exhibitions.
Fastrez received multiple awards. He won the 2011 Grand Prix du Jury at Design Parade 6 in Villa Noailles (Hyères, France) under the direction of Stephan Diez with his projects “Variations upon an electric kettle” and “Tomahawks hair dryer.” He also received the Wallpaper Design Award in 2015 for his « Scarabée » vase.

His works are included in the permanent collections of the Center Pompidou, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Villa Noailles in Hyères, and the CNAP (Comité National des Arts Plastiques) collection, all of which are located in Paris.
Kerala Console
Several of Fastrez’s pieces, including the “Mask” mirror collection, the “Etna” coffee tables, and the “Egypt” vase collection, have been produced in limited editions by Galerie Kreo since 2012.

Fastrez’s first solo show at Galerie Kreo is titled “Vivarium.” A fresh body of art, including furniture and items, gently inspired by the wild animals using the gallery as a vivarium is on display in the exhibition.
