Elle Decor, one of the most prestigious magazines in the world and a truly icon in the interior design and fashion world has been given exclusive details of the celebrity’s houses. This time it was the turn of the legendary 6 time Nascar champion Jimmie Johnson and his wife Chandra Johnson.
The couple’s Manhattan apartment was designed by Shawn Henderson an A-list interior decorator that has been making headlines around the world.
Mr Henderson explains, to Elle Decor, that Mr&Mrs Johnson wanted a very modern home in which New York was retracted. A different style to their traditional home in North Carolina.
There wasn’t needed a very big restructuration in the apartment. The designer tells that the biggest difficulty was to remove a closet at the end of the entry hall
The furniture used in the apartment was a mix between Scandinavian pieces and Shawn Herderson’s custom furniture that he made just for this project.
The designer’s wonder of nature is visible in Jimmie & Chandra Jonhnson’s home. The dinning room is full of nature touches that really give to the place a fresh, beautiful and inviting look.
Cashmere is one of Shawn Herderson’s favorite materials. He once said that every room should have a piece of it in every room. In this house the designer kept that promise.
For this project the designer didn’t throw out everything that was in the apartment. Jimmie and Chandra Johnson insisted that some furniture and some rugs were included in the new interior design.
The result? As you can see Mr Henderson created a very balanced design in which every material are in sync. Jimmie and Chandra Johnson must be very pleased how the decor turned out. This is a modern, comfortable and stylish Manhattan apartment.
