The contemporary designer David Adjaye is the Winner of the 2018 International Humanities Prize from Washington University in St. Louis. Here are some examples of his work as an internationally renowned architect.
This prize, for those of you that don’t know it, honors the work path of a noted scholar, writer or artist who made their mark in the world of arts or letters. The British architect is normally recognized by his ability to reveal stories an identities while embodying the real human experience. As they say that an image talks more than a thousand words, so I think that is better, for you,u if a show what I’m talking about. Don’t go anywhere and see for yourself!
One of Sir David Adjaye’s most known projects (and you know which one I’m talking about) it’s the Smithsonian National Musem of African American History Culture. This contemporary building has become a landmark, an icon, to the American architecture. In this contemporary project, we can see that he combined the U.S. black cultural modernity, with his African heritage to remind us of the past and move us into a better future.
As you can see, his stands a position around the world, having design projects all over America and Europe. The 25,000$ award is the prize that Sir Adjaye is going to receive during the awards public ceremony in Hillman Hall’s Clark-Fox Forum. He will become history as Orhan Pamuk, Francine Prose, Ken Burns, among others.
