When some of you were dancing Spice Girls on the 90´s would you ever imagine that the famous Posh Victoria Adams would become one of the biggest fashion icons of these days?
In fact this super woman was always on the spot light. Married with the famous soccer player David Beckham, mother of four, fashion designer, Victoria Beckham continues surprising opening a new store in Mayfair’s Dover Street. The designer didn´t hesitate for a minute to open her store in London “I’m from London, I’m very proud to be British. So for me there was no doubt, I wanted to open my first store here.”
Elle Décor tells us about it and today I´ll share with you all the details!
Victoria Beckham took care of the entire concept, from the design arquitecture Farshid Moussavi to the sales assistant, she interviewed all of them. The designer wish, was to have her personal touch in every corner, an open space with clean lines and minimal clothing.
Her personal life and family was also an inspiration for her, “The fitting rooms are actually very, very big. When I go shopping I’ve always got at least one child, so it’s important that I can come in, sit a child down, put my shopping bags down…” The space is also planned to be appellative for men, having places that they can sit and relax “I’m very lucky that I have a husband that does go shopping for me. I think that it is very important that guys come in and they can be comfortable.”
The three-story airy space is industrial but doesn´t intimidate, with polished concrete floors, American walnut shelving with blonde gold accents, mirror stainless steel and bottle green grass. The vision was to make a place that can show the Victoria Beckam´s style and to let people feel free to come to the store. “I don’t want anyone to feel scared to come in here and shop. I want everyone to feel welcome.”
