Joana Vasconcelos Displays Her Best Artworks At Serralves Foundation – From February 19th to the June 24th, the renowned plastic artist promised to impress every art and design lover the visit the famous Serralves Foundation in Porto, Portugal!

Joana Vasconcelos returns to the Serralves Foundation with her incredible “I’m Your Mirror” exhibition. The incredible exhibition is curated by the Museo Guggenheim Bilbao in partnership with Serralves and Kunsthall Rotterdam, in Rotterdam, being also curated by Enrique Juncosa. The internationally renowned plastic artist thought that the place that hosts the best Portuguese Art would be the perfect art gallery to showcase her favorite and most famous artworks!
Born in Paris, in 1971, Joana Vasconcelos is a renowned Portuguese plastic artist that has been exhibiting her works since the mid-1990s. Her work gained international attention after her participation in the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005, with the piece “A Noiva” (The Bride), when it was installed at the entrance of the main exhibition.
This modern art exhibition joins more than 30 pieces, from 1997 until today, covering up two decades of artistic practice and analyzing her development as an artist. Also known as “I’m Your Mirror”, this incredible exhibition includes many of her most known artworks, like the Cama Valium (1998), The Bride (2001 to 2005), the Red Independent Heart(2005), Marilyn (2011) and Lilicoptère (2012).
Besides the good old classics, the bespoke artwork collection also includes some incredible masterpieces that were exclusively created for this exhibition, such as Finisterra and Solitário, made in 2018.

The bespoke artworks of the renowned plastic artist are spread, not only in the incredible rooms inside the foundation but also along the gardens and the Serralves Park through monumental outdoor sculptures.
The entry for this wonderful art world depends if you want to visit just the Museum and the Park, or if you also want to see the House. However, on the first Sundays of every month, there’s a free entrance in the Serralves Foundation until 13:00… It is the perfect opportunity for you to visit Joana Vasconcelos’s “I’m Your Mirror” exhibit!
